As a caregiver, whether next door or across the country, you will feel stress. It is not unlike the stressors that a parent feels for the well-being of their child. You are concerned about your loved one near or far and they are on your mind throughout your day-to-day life.
Symptoms or feelings related to stress are universal. You may have many or only one of the stress outcomes. No one is immune to the syndrome. You can deny the stress or you can embrace it and make changes in your life.

The best way to manage this stress is to recognize and it and admit that you are stressed. Denial is your worst enemy. There are inexpensive ways for you to deal. Remember if you get sick because of stress, the resources available to your loved one is now one less.
